THE city is full to the brim with events and activities to celebrate the festive season.
VisitWiltshire has compiled a list of things to do in Salisbury.
Shoppers can browse around Salisbury Christmas Market, which runs until January 6.
This year, the Guildhall Square is home to an ice skating rink which will be in operation on the same dates as the Christmas Market. Tickets can be purchased from visitwiltshire.co.uk/salisburyicerink
There are regular Christmas services at both Salisbury Cathedral and St Thomas’ Church in the lead up to Christmas, including Carols by Candlelight on December 22 in the cathedral.
This Advent and Christmas Salisbury Cathedral and The Close will also be transformed inside and outside, with illuminated art installations on the West Walk, in the North Porch, on the Cloister Garth and in the cathedral itself. From Darkness to Light Illuminations run from Monday until February 3, and features giant spheres, a galaxy of glittering stars and neon light displays.
The National Trust’s Mompesson House will be transformed into The Christmas House every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday until December 23.
And follow the Salisbury Nutcracker Trail around the city centre from today until January 6.
Pantomime season gets underway at Salisbury Playhouse with Beauty and the Beast, which runs from Saturday until January 13.
