THE streets of Salisbury were filled with the glow of hundreds of lanterns for the annual parade.

Wiltshire Creative, Salisbury BID and Alabaré collaborated to bring the special event to the city yesterday evening (Thursday, November 6).

The procession started in the Cathedral Close before winding its way through the city to finish in the market square.

Crowds lined the streets along the route to see the array of colourful lanterns including larger ones shaped like flamingos and dinosaurs.

A spokesman for Salisbury BID said: “We’re overwhelmed by the support from the community yesterday evening at the Salisbury Lantern Procession.

"It was great to see thousands of people light up the city - the atmosphere was magical.

"The event was a real team effort and we’re thankful to our city partners Alabaré, Wiltshire Creative and Salisbury Cathedral who helped make it happen.”
