THE family of a woman whose body was found at an address in Amesbury last week say she "was known throughout the community for her beautiful smile and kindness".

Samantha Magee, aged 34, was found dead at an address in Bence Court last Friday.

Police are still treating the death as unexplained, although a 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and released under investigation.

Samantha's family have released a tribute to her in a statement released today by police.

They said: "It is with greatest sadness that we are having to write this.

"We have lost our beautiful talented Samantha Ann Magee in such tragic circumstances.

"Samantha was born in the May of 1984 and sadly lost her life at the tender age of 34.

"Samantha or Sam/Sammy as she was often known, is the loving daughter of Arthur and Francesca and sister to Christine.

"She was always surrounded by her loving family and friends and enjoyed social gatherings.

"Samantha spent most of her life in Amesbury and after leaving school pursued a career in acting. She loved to dance and sing and her desire for the arts led her to Andover School of Arts and then East 15 Acting School.

"Samantha’s greatest achievement was becoming a mother to Bella. She totally adored her daughter and whatever happened in Samantha’s life she never ever stopped loving her.

"Tragically over the last couple of years Samantha battled with an alcohol addiction.

"Unfortunately, this grip took her down the wrong path and we believe contributed to her untimely passing.

"Samantha was known throughout the community for her beautiful smile and kindness. We will all remember the happy times we shared with Samantha and know she is finally at peace.

"At this time we are unable to confirm when the funeral will be held but will notify people in due course. We hope that those who knew and loved Samantha will attend to celebrate her life.

"Should anyone wish to make any donations, we have chosen NACOA.

"We would also like to thank the police with their ongoing support during this sad time.

"We kindly ask that people respect our privacy and allow us time to deal with this devastation."

Anyone with information which could assist the investigation is asked to contact the Brunel Major Crime Investigation Team on 101, quoting Operation Majesty.
