A THIRTEEN-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a spate of antisocial incidents in the city centre.
Wiltshire Police issued a plea to parents earlier today, to take responsibility for their children's actions over the school holidays and festive period.
But following further incidents in the city today, a group of youths behaving in an antisocial manner were told to leave a certain area by officers on foot patrol, using powers under a disposal order issued by police yesterday.
The boy, 13, was subsequently arrested for failing to comply and has been taken to custody in Melksham.
Police say his parents have been informed.
Acting Inspector John Hutchings said: "This action has not been taken lightly - we are committed to tackling anti-social behaviour and failure to comply with the disposal order currently in place will result in us taking action against those involved.
"Patrols will continue in the city centre and anyone involved in anti-social behaviour who chooses to ignore the direction of officers to leave the area will be subject to arrest."
