ON Saturday evening my partner and I cycled into the city centre to go for a quick bite to eat. We left our bikes securely locked at the bike park outside Boston Tea Party. When we returned an hour-and-a-half later ready to cycle back home, we were shocked to discover that both the tyres on my partner's mountain bike had been slashed. We then noticed a post-it note in his saddle bag with a crime reference number asking us to call the police for more information.
After contacting the police, the story unravelled and we would like to pass on our sincere thanks to the member of public who witnessed the incident and reported it to the police. It seems, thanks to their vigilance, the perpetrator (who was not known to us) was subsequently arrested and has been charged for criminal damage, amongst other offences.
