A SALISBURY duo say they are “super excited” to be releasing their debut album.

Young Brando was formed in 2013 by Russ James and Drew Shipsey.

Russ says: “The album is due out in March which we are super excited about, we are really proud of what we made. There’s a number of different subjects covered, some really personal stuff which maybe we’re a bit more nervous about people hearing, but the overall feeling is excitement for sure.”

Holes is the first single to come from their self titled debut album. The pair travelled to Hollywood to shoot the video.

Russ says: “The video for Holes is basically about the modern obsession with social media, and people trying to give the impression their life is something it’s really not. We’re really pleased with how it’s turned out, and the reaction we’ve received has been really positive.

“We made the video in Hollywood which was a surreal experience, we had to pinch ourselves on a regular basis. We actually made two videos while there, over three crazy long days.

“When you’re on set and there’s so many cast and crew members working hard you can’t help but feel a little pressure, but it was an enjoyable pressure, and the whole team were great with us.

“The second video we made out there is for the next single, Lion’s Den, which is coming very soon. It’s a 360 video which is worth everybody watching for the concept and the dancers alone. It’s something different from your typical music video, and I find it difficult to take in that it’s our band that has a music video that’s this cool.”

“There’s a lot more to come.” says Russ.

Their debut album has been recorded, produced and mixed by Geoff Swan.

The pair have played some of the biggest UK venues including the O2 Arena and Manchester Arena while supporting McBusted.

“It was the best couple of months,” says Russ. “Playing incredible shows every night, seeing so many different places, and smashing one hell of a lot of ping pong in the lead up to show time... It was ideal really.

“It was a huge tour with such a buzz around it, every night blew you away. Playing the O2 arena was a massive box ticked too, that was bucket list stuff.”

The single is available on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Google Play.
