A “FANTASTIC” asset in Fordingbridge is to undergo a makeover to update the facilities.
Fordingbridge Library closed last week to allow for the improvement works to take place. It aims to reopen on February 26.
Councillor Seán Woodward, Hampshire County Council’s executive member for recreation and heritage, said: “Fordingbridge Library has long been a fantastic asset in its local community. We are currently making improvements at the branch so that customers of all ages can enjoy modern offerings in an up-to-date building. We’re changing the library’s interior and creating a fully accessible entrance with an automatic door to ensure everyone can access the facilities easily. We are also investing in the library’s technology, with self-service kiosks enabling customers to be able to quickly and easily return and renew items.
“During the temporary closure, we encourage local residents to visit their next nearest libraries at Ringwood, Totton and Lyndhurst, and continue accessing a wide range of free online resources such as e-books and e-magazines.”
