FORDINGBRIDGE councillors were left in the dark last night as a power cut plunged the town hall into darkness.
Fordingbridge Town Council's meeting still went ahead despite the lack of light and was conducted via torch light.
An extra supply of torches were found for the 7.30pm meeting.
Power outages were reported to Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) at about 6.50pm in areas including High Street and Saddlers Close.
SSEN say 163 customers were affected by the fault to its main network.
A spokesperson from SSEN said: “We’d like to apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused by yesterday’s fault and thank them for their patience as our engineers worked to safely restore power as quickly as possible.”
The power was restored by 8.30pm last night.
