FORDINGBRIDGE and Ringwood businesses bagged a haul of prizes at the Great Hampshire Sausage and Pie Competition 2019.

HG Witt and Son in Fordingbridge picked up five golds for its sausages and home-cured bacon.

It was also named the home-cured bacon champion for its sweet chilli cured bacon and lamb/ beef sausage champion for its beef and sweet chilli sausage.

Price Farm Foods received eight golds in the sausage, pie and home-cured bacon categories and six silvers for its sausages, faggots and traditional pork pie.

New Pastures, a catering butchers and game dealers in Godshill, who were entering the competition for the first time, received gold awards in the traditional pork sausage and speciality pork sausage categories and a silver for its venison faggots.

Crow Farm Shop in Ringwood picked up the traditional pork pie champion award as well as six golds for its speciality sausages and traditional pork pies, and a silver in the cold pie category.

The Farmers Butcher in Bramshaw came away with two golds and three silvers in the competition, which is run by Hampshire Fare.
