A DRIVER was reportedly caught speeding at 74mph on a 40mph road in the New Forest.
Hampshire Police stopped the driver on the B3078 Roger Penny Way in Fordingbridge - a road which reportedly has one of the highest animal casualty rates in the New Forest.
The driver was charged with speeding and is due to appear in court.
The New Forest Roads Campaign group posted about the incident on their Facebook page at the weekend.
The group said it was "absolutely disgusted" by the reported speed.
"Hitting an animal at this speed would not only result in an animal being killed, but possibly the driver too."
