IT’S World Book Day - and we want to know how your little Harry Potters, Hungry Caterpillars and Willy Wonkas will be enjoying the event.
School children and their teachers across south Wiltshire have been busy preparing their costumes for the annual day.
And we hope to show off as many of them as possible in a special online gallery today and in the Journal newspaper next week.
Last year saw some amazing efforts and we’re hoping to again highlight all the hard work that goes into transforming your children into book characters for the day.
This year marks the twentieth anniversary of the annual celebration of reading, authors and illustrators.
Celebrated in more than 100 countries across the globe, World Book Day gives little ones the chance to dress up as their favourite book characters and take part in school games that will help encourage a love of reading.
Evidence suggests that children who read for enjoyment perform better in reading tests than those who don’t, as well as developing a broader vocabulary, increasing their general knowledge and gaining a better understanding of other cultures.
Our gallery will be up and running this morning, so as soon as the kids are ready, send in your pictures using the link below. Don't forget to let us know your child's name!
