TAKE a musical journey through the life and career of the legendary Cilla Black.

Cilla and the Shades of the 60s sees Victoria Jones reprise her starring role as Cilla Black. The show will be at City Hall, Salisbury on March 21.

Victoria said: “I’m really looking forward to performing again in 2019…I can honestly say it’s become my favourite job since I started singing professionally.

“Each song is a pleasure to perform and as well as singing, I get the opportunity to use my acting skills as well. My favourite part of the show has to be the ‘Blind Date’ section. We select a guest from the audience and they are always such great fun and good sports. I love interacting with the audience and celebrating Cilla’s sense of humour and cheeky charm.”

The show starts with the discovery of the teenage Cilla at Liverpool’s famous Cavern Club, followed by a two-hour show of music and dance, stories and some comedic moments.

The show features highlights of Cilla’s career: by the time Cilla was 21 she was working with Beatles’ producer George Martin and was at No 1 with You’re My World and Anyone Who Had A Heart. She was Britain’s No 1 female singer during the 1960s and subsequently became a TV presenter.

Victoria said: “Performing as Cilla gives me the opportunity to celebrate the sound and style of a generation of women who made a vital contribution to music in the UK and abroad.Artists like Petula Clark, Dusty Springfield, Lulu, Sandie Shaw, Kiki Dee as well as Cilla were all stars and I love performing their music onstage with The Shades, all of whom are fantastic singers.”
