THERE was an attempted burglary and theft in an Amesbury chip shop last month.

Short after 7pm on January 28, a man entered the staff area of Harlee's Chip Shop, in Bence Court, Amesbury, and attempted to open the safe.

He was unsuccessful and left, returning around an hour later with another man via the front door.

They tried to distract staff while one of them stole an item from the counter.

Police have carried out a number of enquiries in order to identify the suspects and are now asking for the public's help.

The two men pictured are from CCTV images of men police would like to speak to in connection with the inciden.
