A MOTHER and daughter doggy duo who are like “two pups in a pod” are now looking for a new fur-ever home together this Mothers’ Day.

Nine-year-old Spaniel cross Rosie and her eight-year-old daughter Poppy, who are not only family but best friends, arrived at the Dogs Trust Rehoming Centre in Salisbury through no fault of their own, and are now looking forward to becoming part of a new family.

The two dogs have been together since Poppy was born and have become inseparable.

Dogs Trust Salisbury Rehoming Centre manager, Jacinta Lye said: “It’s not often we see a mother and daughter duo looking for a home together but Rosie and Poppy are like two pups in a pod so we really want to make sure we find a home for them together.

“They are such sweet characters and we know they will settle into their new home well with their devoted family by their side.”

Both dogs enjoy a quiet lifestyle but love each other’s company.

They will need a secure garden to explore, as well as places on the sofa for nap time.

Jacinta added: “Rehoming a pair of dogs can be incredibly rewarding, especially if it means you’re helping to keep a furry family together.

“We’re appealing to anyone who thinks that they can offer them both a home to please get in touch – it’s a case of double the dog and double the love.”

Dogs Trust is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity and cares for around 15,000 dogs across 20 rehoming centres in the UK.

2018 was a record-breaking year for the Newton Tony-based centre, who managed to rehome 63 more dogs than 2017, including long-term residents Cody, Chutney, Bailey and Marley, who had collectively been at the rehoming centre for eight years.

The centre also opened its specialist training and behaviour facility last year, Stepping Stones, to help equip dogs who need extra care and training. For more information about giving Rosie and Poppy the paw-fect home call Dogs Trust Salisbury on 01980 880 891.
