THE pub at the centre of last year's Novichok poisonings will finally be reopening tomorrow, after being closed for over one year.

Recently known as The Mill, the newly branded and refurbished The Bishop's Mill in Salisbury will be opening its doors to the public again from 11am tomorrow (April 5), with mayor of Salisbury Mike Osment reopening the venue with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The Greene King pub has been closed since last March for nerve agent decontamination, after being one of the buildings visited by Sergei and Yulia Skripal after they were poisoned.

As reported, the pub had been scheduled to open for Christmas, but plans were delayed due to the building's listed status.

Brand new changes to The Bishop's Mill include a glazed pergola, the repositioned bar, improved accessibility at the pub entrance and more space on the ground floor.

And bosses said the pub's original name will be returning as a nod to the building’s heritage and position at the heart of the city.

Andrea Greenwood, operations manager for The Bishop’s Mill, said she is "delighted" to be one step closer to the opening, adding: “It is now around a year since the terrible events of last March and our thoughts are very much with the people of Salisbury and especially those directly impacted by these events.”
