PLANNING permission is being sought to build 21 homes on the edge of an east Dorset village.
An outline application has been submitted by Mr and Mrs McIlwain to redevelop the plant nursery site in Ringwood Road, Alderholt.
The majority of the homes would have three bedrooms while two bungalows would also be built.
Ten would be classed as ‘affordable’ under the proposals put forward to East Dorset District Council.
A planning statement submitted with the application says: “The proposed development will fit comfortably on the site and the accommodation has been arranged having regard to the amenities of the surrounding properties.
“The proposal has had regard to the density and appearance of existing houses in the immediate vicinity and thereby preserves the character of the area.”
As an outline application, it does not address the final design details of the scheme, only the principle of developing the site.
Planning officers of the new Dorset council will consider the proposal in the coming weeks.
