WORLD-CLASS musicians are going to be descending on Farley for the village’s annual festival.

Five classical concerts are being performed in the Wren-style All Saints’ Church as part of this year’s Farley Music Festival which runs from June 18 to 23.

The line-up includes the globally-renowned Ayoub Sisters and the current winner of the coveted Liszt competition in Budapest, Riyad Nicolas, who festival organisers say are set to break previous festival attendance records.

Farley Music Festival chairman William Dunkerley said: “Welcome to our very exciting 18th annual Farley Music Festival, following on from last year’s record attendance-breaking event.I am very pleased at the way the festival has grown a loyal following year-on-year.

“Our objective is to showcase talented international young musicians, performing classical music of the highest quality in a charming and intimate setting.”

Four of the 2019 Farley Music Festival’s outstanding young performers are newcomers to the event.

The festival’s co-founder and organiser Nicholas Walker, internationally acclaimed pianist and teacher at London’s Royal Academy of Music, said: “We are delighted to welcome to the 2019 Farley Music Festival the highly promising Italian classical pianist Francesca Orlando, who is in her first year of postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music; and the chamber music trio, International Young Soloists, comprising the multi-award-winning Hungarian pianist Alexandra Balog; South Korean prize-winning violinist Jane Kim; and accomplished Romanian chamber musician, cellist Réka Adorjáni.”

Mr Dunkerley added: “The 2019 Farley Music Festival will also include the return, by popular demand, of four outstanding musicians who wowed past Farley audiences. They are the current Liszt competition winner, Syrian pianist Riyad Nicolas; the international award winning Serbian pianist Viktor Bijelović; and Scotland’s globally acclaimed multi-instrumentalist Ayoub Sisters, Sarah and Laura who, since their last Farley appearance in 2016, have performed live on television at the BAFTA Television Awards; and at such prestigious venues as the Cairo Opera House, the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, and the London Palladium.”

Once again, this year’s Farley Music Festival will officially end on Sunday, June 23 at 6pm with the Farley Music Festival’s traditional Festival Evensong, where the preacher will be The Reverend Canon James Mustard, Precentor of Exeter Cathedral.

Tickets for each Farley Music Festival concert cost £15 per person, including a free glass of wine at the interval. Tickets can be purchased at Salisbury Playhouse on 01722 32033, online at wiltshirecreative.co.uk, or on the door, subject to availability.
