THE mayor of Salisbury will be challenging himself to walk 90 miles over the Easter bank holiday.

Councillor Mike Osment will be walking the White Horse Trail in aid of the Mayor's Appeal - a circular route taking in the historic visual sites at Westbury, Devizes, Alton Barnes, Cherhill, Broad Town, Hackpen, Marlborough and Pewsey.

Cllr Osment will be taking on the challenge with friends, Andy Bletsoe and Mark Redford, and described the feat as a "tough challenge", adding: We've walked together many times over the years, but we're not getting any younger.

"I'm really looking forward to seeing all of the iconic white horses, especially the less well known ones, some of which I've not seen before."

The Mayor's Appeal supports charities Childrens Chance and Rose Gale Trust.
