A TEN by five metre rubbish fire has been reported near Salisbury Racecourse.
Last night (April 15) at around 11.30pm, Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue were called to the scene near Race Plain Road, to deal with a fire involving flytipped rubbish.
Additionally a fire and rescue crew from Wilton attended with an off road vehicle.
The fire was extinguished using a hose and hay drags.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said: "We were called to a field near the top of Harnham Hill at 11.32pm last night for a fire in the open.
"A crew from Wilton and a Land Rover 4x4 pump from Fordingbridge attended, and one hose reel jet and two drags were used to extinguish the fire, which involved a quantity of flytipped rubbish covering an area of approximately 10m x 5m.
"The stop came in at 2.06am."
