A MAN has been charged after a machete was brandished in public.
Marian Catalina Peica, aged 22, of Belle Vue Road, was arrested on Tuesday in Salisbury city centre.
He was charged with possession of an offensive weapon.
Whilst in custody, it transpired that he was also wanted on a European arrest warrant in relation to an offence in Romania.
He is due at Westminster Magistrates Court today.
Insp Pete Sparrow said: “This was some really positive work by the officers involved – they worked really quickly and efficiently to gather enough information to ensure this man could be charged within the 24-hour time frame."
