AROUND £700 worth of cigarettes has been taken from a Verwood store without paying.

On April 9 at around 3pm, two women entered the Co-op store on Ringwood Road, and confused the cashier by claiming they had paid for cigarettes the day before and had come to collect them.

As well as taking £700 worth of cigarettes, other items were also taken from the store.

The duo were reportedly seen getting into a navy blue people carrier, possibly a Citroen C8 or a Peugeot 807.

Police sergeant Carmel Ryan of Dorset Police said: “We have obtained CCTV of the suspects from the store and have made efforts to identity them but have so far been unsuccessful.

“I am now issuing the CCTV in the hope that someone might have information as to their identity.”
