A MOTORCYCLIST was airlifted to hospital in Bristol after a crash east of Highworth today.
The rider, a woman in her 20s, crashed on a road in Lushill, between Castle Eaton and Hannington. She was seriously injured in the crash, which happened at around 1.20pm.
In a statement, a Wiltshire Police spokeswoman said: "The single-vehicle road traffic collision involved a motorcycle and the rider, a woman in her 20s, was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol by air ambulance.
"We are appealing for anyone with information, including anyone who may have seen the motorcycle or who has dash cam footage which could assist with our enquiries, to contact PC Peter Williamson, from the Collision Investigation Unit, on 101, quoting log 162 of Thursday, May 16."
The road is likely to remain closed until at least 5.30pm.
