A 16-YEAR-OLD boy from London has been arrested on suspicion of possessing heroin with intent to supply in Salisbury.

Police attended a property in the city centre on Tuesday and seized a significant amount of cash and heroin wraps.

The teenager has been released under investigation as enquiries continue.

Detective Sergeant Garry Epps said: "This investigation is an example of the very real issue of County Lines or drug lines which is the distribution of class A drugs from big cities into rural counties.

"Children are being used as drug runners travelling miles away from home on their own and often forced to secrete these dangerous substances inside their bodies. They are risking much more than a criminal record.

"In order to safeguard children and vulnerable adults who are also targeted by County Lines gangs we need you to report any concerns or suspicions. This is a problem for the whole community to help tackle, give us the information so we can act on it."

Anyone with information about drug dealing call police on 101 or if a crime is in progress call 999.
