BILL'S restaurant in Salisbury will close on Saturday.

The firm announced the planned closure last month, with May 25 set to be it's last date in the city.

The chain's site, on Blue Boar Row, will be taken over by the Dancing Moose Pub Company in the "first week of July".

Bill's Restaurant was previously known as The Chough, a former coaching inn, which closed in 2013.

As reported, a spokesperson for Bill's Restaurant said: “We can confirm that the Salisbury restaurant will close on Saturday May 25 and the site will be transferred to The Dancing Moose Pub Company at the end of May.

"As a group, we are continually reviewing our restaurant estate and, as part of our planned renovation works, we have made the decision to focus our efforts on our other restaurants.

“Our team are hugely important to us and ensuring they are looked after and treated with integrity is a priority. We would like to thank them for all their hard work and will work with them as much as possible with their career going forward.

"We will do everything we can to support them and where possible will employ them in our other restaurants close by, we have also spoken to the Dancing Moose Pub Company about them interviewing our team as they will need staff for their exciting new venue.”

The Dancing Moose has restaurant bars in Bournemouth, Penn Hill, Ashley Cross and Wimborne Minster. The company has been contact for comment.business in Ashley Cross, Bournemouth, Wimborne and Penn Hill, and offers a range of food, drink and live entertainment.
