VISITING restrictions have been put in place in a Salisbury District Hospital ward following a diarrhoea and vomiting outbreak.
Pitton Ward on Level Four of the hospital is currently affected by norovirus - a highly contagious stomach bug that causes diarrhoea and vomiting - so visiting is now restricted to family and friends of patients only.
To prevent further spread of the infection, visitors are advised to wash hands with soap and water before and after visiting wards, follow the instructions provided by staff, and do not visit more than one area of the hospital during the same trip.
