A SALISBURY pub that has closed again will be undergoing a £400,000 refurbishment, in order to become a "top quality local that the whole community can enjoy".

The Coach & Horses has closed again and is now up for lease, but has been injected with hundreds of thousands of pounds by owners Star Pubs & Bars to get a brand new look.

Once an operator has been secured to work alongside Star Pubs, the site on Winchester Street is proposed to have a makeover both inside and out.

Plans for the pub include refreshed exterior decorations and signage, new flooring, lighting and furniture inside, upgraded toilets, and new furniture and lighting in the court yard.

Additionally the cellar hopes to be upgraded with a SmartDispense system so the pub can deliver quality cider and beer.

The pub will be following the owner's 'Bit of Style' criteria, aiming to appeal to people aged between 24 and 34, and inviting pub-goers to visit as part of a night out or as a place to loosen up.

A spokesperson for Star Pubs & Bars said: “The Coach & Horses, Salisbury, is to receive a £400,000 investment by its owners Star Pubs & Bars in partnership with a new operator to create a fantastic local pub.

"The investment will upgrade the pub throughout to make it more welcoming and comfortable, ensuring its long term sustainability.

“This is a very attractive pub with lots of character, which offers great pub food in a traditional setting.

"We want to give the pub a new lease of life and make it into a top quality local that the whole community can enjoy."
