THE Five Rivers Festival will be back again next year after scores got involved in the event's inaugural showing.
Held on Bank Holiday Monday yesterday, the day of events celebrated Salisbury’s five rivers.
The event was been put together by the Salisbury Rotary and Business Community Group, which previously put on a successful contemporary craft and heritage festival in the city.
This year's event saw locals partake in two land-based and two river events, but festival co-ordinator David Clayton has already confirmed that plans are well underway to "extend this to five river events in 2020”.
On Monday, there was something on offer for everyone, which took place at various locations around Salisbury.
The first river event was a gentle float down the River Avon from Stink Pot Bridge (in Stratford-sub-Castle) towards Ashley Green, with locals using their own inflatables.
There was then a 'bubble football' competition on Fisherton Rec (next to Ashley Green).
But for those not wanting to get too wet, on Ashley Green itself, Salisbury Fire Station held a bank holiday car boot sale.
The second river event was a River Race, which took place at Churchill Gardens, just down from New Bridge.
As reported, the festival was run as a charity event, with Serve On, the Sea Cadets and Salisbury Rotary Club benefitting from the proceeds.
