A POWER cut was reported in areas of Salisbury this morning.

At around 7.45am Scottish and Southen Electricity Networks (SSEN) was called to the city to fix the problem, predicting supplies would be restored by 11am.

A spokesperson for SSEN said the power cut was caused by a bird striking the line, affecting 985 customers.

The problem was resolved by the onsite team at around 8.15am.

SSEN has apologised for any inconvenience caused and has ensured everything is now safe and operating as usual.
