A MOTORCYCLIST has sustained serious injuries in a crash on the A36 near Knook this morning.
The incident, which happened at about 8.15am this morning at the junction with the B390, resulted in the male rider colliding with a blue VW Polo.
All three emergency services attended the scene.
The male rider of the motorcycle was airlifted to Southmead hospital and his family have been informed. The female driver of the Polo was not injured.
The road reopened at 4.30pm.
As reported, the road was shut in both directions with closures in place at Heytesbury Roundabout and Upton Lovell Cross Roads.
