A MOTORCYCLIST is in a "critical condition" after a crash on the A36 near Knook.
The incident, which happened at about 8.15am yesterday morning at the junction with the B390, also involved a blue VW Polo.
The male rider of the motorcycle was airlifted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.
The female driver of the Polo was not injured.
As reported, the road was shut in both directions with closures in place at Heytesbury Roundabout and Upton Lovell Cross Roads.
Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to call PC Mark Cargill on 101 quoting log 55 April 4. Alternatively call Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 anonymously.
