A MAN was threatened with a knife during an attempted robbery in Millstream Approach, Salisbury.

The incident happened at around 9.40pm on Sunday (June 9) and police say the victim, a 48 year old local man, was crossing the Coach Station car park when he was approached from behind by a male.

The man threatened him with a knife and demanded that he hand over his wallet and phone.

The suspect is described as white, of chubby build, aged approximately 23 to 25 years old, with short dark hair and a stubble beard.

He was wearing blue jeans and a white England football shirt.

Acting Detective Sergeant Rachel Winter said: "Officers attended the scene following the initial 999 call and understandably the victim was left feeling very shaken up. Our enquiries are continuing today.

"Did you see an individual matching this description in the area on Sunday evening?

"Any information you have could be significant in our investigation to help identify the suspect."
