FOUR people have been found unconscious inside a house in Downton.

This morning emergency services, including police, fire and ambulance, were called to Wick Lane at 9.50am after concerns for the welfare of people at a property.

It was initially reported by emergency services that there were five people inside the house but it has now been confirmed that two people have been taken to Salisbury District Hospital while the other two were treated at the scene.

Police have said the incident is believed to have been drug related.

Once the scene was clear, Sgt Keith Jackson of Wiltshire Police said: "Police were called to the address this morning at about 9.50am to reports of four persons inside not in the best of health, not feeling particularly well, and a potential smell of gas coming from the address as well."

He added:"We strongly believe it is drug-related. We are not looking for anyone else and there is no threat to the wider public."
