SALISBURY's Cathedral Close was awash with classic motors over the weekend, as a new car event came to the city.
The Rotary Tour of Legends cavalcade, of around 50 iconic cars, finished its drive in the medieval city on Saturday.
The procession of vehicles had, during the day, driven through towns and villages in Hampshire and Wiltshire.
Starting at the the Alma Inn at Upham, the assorted mix of superbly presented classic’s ranging from 1914 to 1975 completed a tour which started with breakfast at Bill Rawles classic car restoration factory (the main sponsors), lunch at Wellow Golf Club, and static displays at both Winchester Cathedral Grounds and Salisbury Cathedral.
Organisers say the cars made "wonderful exhibits" for public to view.
The event raised cash for Bishop's Waltham Rotary to help support worthwhile charities in the south in desperate need of funds but to also create a great day out for classic car owners and visitors alike.
All drivers paid to enter the tour along with donations from sponsors, raising £3000 to this year’s 2 charities, No Limits and The Society Of St James, a fantastic achievement for this the inaugural Rotary Tour Of Legends.
