BIKE week was marked in Salisbury with a communal ride around the city centre.
On Saturday members of the Cycling Opportunities Group Salisbury (COGS) were joined by fellow cyclists and the mayor of Salisbury, John Walsh, for a gentle cycle through the city.
Bike Week, held between June 8 and 16, is an annual celebration of cycling and its health and leisure benefits, as well as encouraging the public to give the sport a try.
Hadrian Cook, chairman of COGS, described cycling as a "great way to get around the city", adding: “Bike Week this year wants to convey the message that riding a bike can easily be a part of everyday life and we hope this ride [helped] to underline that message and inspire more people to try cycling."
Councillor Walsh added: “People are realising that cycling can address a lot of problems in terms of improving people’s health, reducing traffic congestion and enhancing air quality.
"As a cyclist myself I fully support the work of COGS, and other cyclists in Salisbury, in campaigning for a safer cycling environment and encouraging people to try cycling.”
