WILTSHIRE Council has apologised after a blunder surrounding tickets for Armed Forces Day.

Initially, the council stated that children under the age of two would not require a ticket for the weekend's events, before then saying everyone of all ages required a ticket for entry.

This meant that people had bought tickets for the Saturday, which sold out within an hour of the Kaiser Chiefs being announced as the main headliner, but had not purchased tickets for their children.

They were then unable to buy any more tickets, once the policy had changed.

A statement from Wiltshire Council said they were "aware that some people may not have booked Armed Forces Day National Event tickets for children under the age of two on the Saturday, and we apologise for any inconvenience and confusion caused. "

The council are urging anyone without tickets for children under two for the Saturday to get in touch.

Salisbury Journal:

A spokesperson added: “All people attending, including children of any age, require a ticket to gain entry. If anyone hasn’t booked tickets for children under two on the Saturday, please can they email details of their booking, including the order number and email address used, to AFD2019@wiltshire.gov.uk so that we can resolve any ticket issues.

"The order number can be found in the subject of your booking email. Anyone requiring extra tickets for under twos on Friday or Sunday can still order them through the ticketing website.

“We’re keen for people to gain entry to the event as quickly as possible so that they and their family can enjoy the event without any issues spoiling the occasion for them.

"For anyone who hasn't booked tickets yet for Friday or Sunday they can do so at wiltshire.gov.uk/salisbury-afd”.
