AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after firefighters battled a blaze near Ringwood involving two shipping containers and a car workshop.

Fire crews from Ringwood, Burley, Redbridge, St Mary’s, Fordingbridge and Lyndhurst were joined by specialist support vehicles at the scene on Green Lane in Upper Kingston just before 1am on Friday morning (June 21).

Firefighters were at the scene until 8.15am.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "The fire involving two shipping containers and a building used as a car workshop also had cylinders inside which were cooled by firefighters.

"The crews used an ultra-high pressure lance to access the containers and then tackle the blaze with two sets of breathing apparatus, one jet and one hose reel."

"An investigation will now take place after firefighters left the scene following the stop message at 08.17.

"The joint investigation between Hampshire Fire and Rescue and Hampshire police will look at the fire which began at 12.57am in Green Lane, Upper Kingston.
