WILTSHIRE is set to bask in temperatures of 28C (and maybe even hotter) this Saturday as the hot weather makes a welcome return.

After a decidedly grim June so far, Saturday's forecast is for sun from dawn until dusk.

Salisbury Journal:

It'll be the hottest day of the week but not the only day of sunshine with hot weather also predicted today, tomorrow and Sunday.

Temperatures will drop slightly at the beginning of next week and cloud will take over for the most part.

Before then, however, it will be as hot or hotter here than these holiday destinations, according to the Met Office:

BALI

Salisbury Journal: NATURAL BEAUTY A stunning sunset in Bali. The Far East cruise spends two days at the island, allowing plenty of time for sightseeing

Temperatures will reach only 25C in the gorgeous holiday hotspot of Bali on Saturday.

RIO DE JANEIRO

Temperatures in the Brazilian city will only reach a paltry 28C on Saturday.

MAURITIUS

Salisbury Journal:

The Indian Ocean island will be five degrees colder than here.

These maps show whether it will be colder or warmer than usual for the time of year over the coming days.

The hot weather is due to a Saharan 'heat bubble' which is sweeping across Europe, leading to temperatures of more than 40C on the continent.
