A MIX of live music is coming to Sixpenny Handley this weekend with the BIG session.

The event takes place on Saturday from 2pm to 10pm on the cricket pitch, Common Road.

The BIG Session is an outdoor event for all the family. There will also be craft, nature and heritage workshops for children and adults throughout the day, food, including a barbecue, curry in the evening and ice creams plus a full bar.

Penny Mansergh, of Sixpenny Sessions, said: “There is already a great buzz about The BIG Session and we are really excited to be bringing our mini festival with the BIG name back to Handley. It is our main annual fundraiser for good causes in the community and we are extremely grateful for all the support we have received from so many local businesses and especially to our main sponsor NFU Mutual Wessex.

“This year we not only have an amazing mix of live music, fun and games for all the family but also the return of the ever-popular BIG raffle, the proceeds of which this year will be split between MIND, the mental health charity, and Mosaic, a local charity that offers a pathway of support to bereaved children, young people and their families and to children facing the death of a loved one which has been especially important to our community over the last year.

The music line-up includes Back to the Shack, Two Man Travelling Medicine Show, Vanilla Radio, Tom & The Clementynes and Echobirds, plus Big Joe Bone and headliners Luicé.

Entrance is by ticket only. Ticket are £10 adult; £20 family in advance from Styles Mini Market, High Street, Sixpenny Handley or via eventbrite.co.uk. They will also be available on the gate.
