CANNABIS plants worth an estimated street value of around £10,000 were seized from an address in Salisbury.

Officers from the Community Tasking Team attended the address in Juniper Drive yesterday afternoon following intelligence received from members of the community.

Inside the address, a quantity of mature cannabis plants were located and seized.

Inspector Pete Sparrow said: “All the community intelligence we receive is used to build a picture of what is happening in our communities.

“Growing cannabis remains against the law and we will continue to look into those who exploit the vulnerable through drug supply to make profit illegally.

“Aside from the legal or health issues, there are significant fire risks associated with the cultivation of cannabis which can pose a danger to those living nearby as well as the occupant.

“As a result of the intelligence provided by local people in this case, we have been able to intercept the supply of cannabis with a street value of £10,000 from reaching our streets. We’ve also prevented someone from benefitting financially from this illegal activity.”

A man in his 40s has been invited in for interview in due course.
