THREE new City Ambassadors have been employed to promote the city this summer.
Salisbury BID, who is jointly funding the project along with the city council, says that following the success of previous years, the Ambassador programme was brought back for a fourth consecutive term.
This initiative is being managed by the BID.
This year’s City Ambassadors are Michael Wileman-Cooke, Mary Webb and Thom Belk. They’ll be roaming the city centre until early September.
Their role is to welcome and assist visitors who have made their way to the medieval city.
This, it is hoped, will “maximise” the enjoyment of their visit to Salisbury.
Robin McGowan, Chief Executive of Salisbury BID, said: “Promoting the city and our business members is a key priority for the BID, so we’re delighted to be running the City Ambassador initiative this year. Salisbury has so much to offer and the Ambassadors are a great way to promote this to visitors.”
The Ambassadors will also be promoting local businesses and attractions, as well as events and what’s on in the city centre. They will also assist visitors with any questions they may have and will be giving out city maps.
