YOUNGSTERS in Salisbury have been learning about different aspects of the Second World War.
The Rifles Berkshire and Wiltshire Museum in The Close, Salisbury, has been hosting a series of events this month, which are run by Trowbridge Museum.
The events have been focusing on topics including evacuation and what happened to those who were evacuated from the cities during the war and the Home Guard.
At last week’s drop-in session visitors were given the opportunity to dress up in wartime clothing as well as make their own gas masks.
The next event takes place on Wednesday from 11am to 3pm. Visitors can take on the food rationing challenge and make their own Spitfire. The event is free to attend.
Next month specialists at Woolley and Wallis fine art auctioneers are teaming up with The Rifles Berkshire and Wiltshire Museum for a valuation event on September 18, which starts from 5.30pm.
