AWARD-WINNING play – All I See Is You – is heading to the Salberg stage at Salisbury Playhouse next month.

The play is co-directed by Wiltshire couple Ben Occhipinti and Mark Powell.

Bobby works on Woolies’ record counter and Ralph dreams of being a teacher. One kiss and they are hooked. But it is 1967 and their love is illegal.

While Ralph buries his head in his books and tries courting his sister’s pal, Bobby can not deny who he is.

All I See Is You is a two-hander telling the tale of two ordinary men. This rollercoaster love story, inspired by real accounts, marks a return to the Playhouse for Ben and Mark who met and fell in love when working together on The Boy Friend in 2007.

The show, which won the UK’s National Octagon Prize, is currently on tour picking up more awards for outstanding performances and best new writing. It also won an international touring bursary at the Brighton Fringe Festival and will be heading to Sydney and Melbourne festivals after the Salisbury run.

Ciarán Griffiths and Christian Edwards play Bobby and Ralph.

Ciarán is best known for his roles in The Bill and Shameless. His other TV work includes Coronation Street and This Is England ’90. Ciarán’s theatre work includes And Did Those Feet (Octagon Theatre) and New Year’s Day (Royal Court). Christian’s most notable work includes the title role in Cyrano (Northern Broadsides), The Winter’s Tale (Octagon Theatre) and Les Misérables (Queens Theatre). Both actors were jointly awarded The Micheál Mac Liammóir Award for Outstanding Performances at the International Gay Theatre Festival in Dublin.

Director Ben Occhipinti’s many credits include Summer Holiday and East is East (Octagon Theatre) and Spend, Spend, Spend (Birmingham Old Rep). Co-director Mark Powell is Artistic Director of Prime Theatre. His credits include The Macbeth Curse (Prime), The Wyvern of Wiltshire (BBC Radio) and A taste of Honey (Salisbury Playhouse).

Writer Kathrine Smith writes mainly for TV. Her credits include EastEnders, Casualty, Suspects and The Bill. Her first play Unprovoked was performed at Roundhouse, London.
