KNIGHTS donned their noble steeds to do battle at Old Sarum over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Jousts are always a popular fixture in Old Sarum’s summer events calendar, but this year English Heritage’s blockbuster event was given a new twist.
The Legendary Joust ran from Friday until Monday, and saw the knights showcase their skills in a series of competitions.
And to give visitors a taste of medieval life their was a an historic encampment, music and a fire breathing jester.
There was also a chance for younger visitors to test their bravery in junior jousting and melees, and hone their skills with have-a-go archery.
