A WOMAN was arrested after a car was used to transport class A drugs.
At around 10.45pm on Thursday, August 22, police officers stopped a car on the A342 Andover Road, Ludgershall, near the Hampshire border.
A search of the vehicle was carried out, with the assistance of Police Dog Ted and his handler PC Sam Dutton, and bags containing class A drugs were found.
A further search was then conducted at an address in Ludgershall, and more class A drugs and cash was found.
Details of locally known drug dealers was also found at the address.
A woman in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, and has since been released under investigation.
Inspector Liz Coles said: “This was an excellent piece of policing work by all those involved, including police dog Ted.
"Local officers had received information to suggest that a vehicle was being used to transport illegal drugs around the local area. As a result of this information, we were able to locate and stop the vehicle, and seize a quantity of class A drugs and cash.
“Our enquiries into this specific incident will continue, but I would urge anyone who suspects drug activity to be taking place to contact us to help improve our intelligence picture so we can take appropriate action.”
