THE sun shone on visitors at the 26th annual Verwood Rustic Fayre on bank holiday Monday.

The event, organised by the Rotary Club of Verwood, was held at Potterne Park and featured a classic car display with the arena hosting terrier racing, dog agility, a Tae Kwando display and more.

There were a few changes to previous years, including the reintroduction of the car boot sale which seemed a popular move.

The Rotary Club says the classic cars were a huge draw and the arena events were as popular as ever, and in particular the duck herding.

There were queues all afternoon for refreshments at the Rotary Arms and the Pimms Tent ran out.

The day concluded with the egg throwing event and the increasingly popular duck race for companies and also a family duck race.

A spokesperson for the Rotary Club said: “We hope that those who attended enjoyed themselves and managed to keep cool. Thanks to everyone for their support. We are now calculating how much money will be available to donate at the handout night in late November.”
