A NEW headmaster has taken over the reins at Leehurst Swan.

After the sad passing of Stuart Morgan Nash, new headmaster Terence Ayres has been appointed by the school.

Mr Ayres was the former headmaster of Thorpe House School in Gerrard’s Cross.

A statement from the school said: "In Terence, we have found an inspiring leader who brings enthusiasm, energy, vision and a commitment to a holistic approach to teaching and learning.

Mr Ayres will uphold and develop Leehurst Swan’s ethos and reputation for excellence, ensuring that all pupils and staff achieve their full potential.

With a background in English, Religious Studies and Sport, he is passionate about ensuring that every child will ‘find their voice’ at Leehurst Swan."

On his appointment, Terence said: "I am very excited about leading Leehurst Swan into the next decade", adding that he was "attracted by the school's warmth and commitment to each individual it educates."

He is a visible and child-centred Headmaster so Leehurst Swan's ethos is very much in-line with his own.

Terence also said that he is "looking forward to building on the strong foundations laid by Stuart Morgan-Nash and interim headmaster Philip Oldroyd and driving the school forward so that it fulfils its great potential.'
