COMPLAINTS of a loud house party, incidents of people using catapults and a stolen leaf blower were reported to police in July and August.

A crime report for Fordingbridge in August, which was given to Fordingbridge Town Council last week, said there were a total of 56 “occurrences” reported to police - 22 of which were recordable as crime.

This was down from the previous month where there were a total of 70 “occurrences” reported to police, 25 of which were recordable as crime.

In August, there were five reports of antisocial behaviour, three incidents of violence against a person, an attempted break-in to a cafe cellar, and five incidents of damage with two in connection to damage to a church.

A council leaf blower was also stolen from the roadside and a handbag was stolen from a vehicle in a public car park after the window was smashed.

And there were four suspicious incidents including an incident where a suitcase was left next to a bin and another of a person running down the road with a cloth bag, and a suspicious call from a water board in relation to a sewage leak.

In July, there were ten incidents of antisocial behaviour including a report of people smoking cannabis in a car park, an illegal encampment on the recreation ground, a complaint of a loud house party and three incidents of people using catapults.

Police also received reports of one dwelling burglary where car keys were taken from inside a property and a vehicle stolen, which was later recovered.

Tools were stolen from a garden shed and plant machinery was taken from an outbuilding belonging to a business.

And an inflatable raft was stolen from a local store.

Four suspicious incidents were also reported to police, including one incident of person hearing a child’s screams, another of a suspicious van on a driveway, which was later seized in Southampton, and one relating to possible entry to the rugby club.
