Durrington Swimming Pool is re-opening to the public on Monday, September 16, following refurbishment works totalling £230,000.

Improvements to the fitness suite, swimming pool and boiler room have been made.

The improvements include:

• Complete re-lining of the swimming pool

• Swimming pool surround tiling replaced with modern, anti-slip surface

• Upgrade of boiler room pipework

• Fitness suite decorated and new flooring installed

Allison Bucknell, Cabinet Member for Leisure said: “I’d like to thank our customers for their patience while these essential works have taken place.

"I’m delighted with the results and I’m sure you will be too. We can’t wait to welcome you all back to the pool and show off the huge improvements the centre has made.”

This is part of a wider series of developments including installation of a new front entrance and new windows, which cost £60,000.

"There has also been work taking place behind the scenes to make the building more efficient and reduce the number of required service/maintenance visits per year.
