MEMBERS of the Newbourne Players Youth Group will be treading the boards in a new production.

The Chair will be performed at 2.30pm on Sunday (September 15) in the Glebe Hall, Winterborne Earls.

It is a tale following the life of a chair and the various characters it meets along the way.

A spokesperson for the group said: “The junior members are full of excitement and boundless enthusiasm and have put in a huge amount of time, effort and energy to make the production a great success.”

The Newbourne Players is a local amateur dramatics society based in the Winterbournes.

Running since 1966 the group has always welcomed junior members and in October 2017 the Newbourne Players Youth Group was officially formed.

Aimed at young people from the age of 8 to 17 the Newbourne Players Youth Group looks to provide a safe and fun space to explore the world of drama and theatre arts.

Since October 2017 the junior members have attended various workshops, been involved in local community events, appeared in pantomime productions of Bottoms Up and Cinderella, and also written, produced and performed their own short play, The Legend of The Blue Lady.

Tickets are currently on sale from the Nisa store in Porton, £5 for adults and £4 for children.

The Newbourne Players youth and senior groups are always on the lookout for new members aged eight upwards to get involved both on and off stage.
