A CITY bus company is offering users half price day travel on Sunday, to mark World Car Free Day.

Put forward by Salisbury Reds, the bus company says its part of its commitment to helping more people use sustainable transport in the city, as well as to help ease congestion, and improve air quality.

Users will be able to get the offer – 50% off an adult Dayrider – on Sunday, by using the operator’s mobile app - Clickit2Ride.

“At Salisbury Reds, we welcome any initiative designed to reduce the harmful effects exhaust emissions have on the environment,” said managing director, Andrew Wickham.

“Our bus fleet is one of the newest and cleanest in the region. Over recent years, we have introduced a large number of brand new buses to operate our services here. Many of these sport the very latest Euro 6 engine - releasing fewer emissions than the average new diesel car.

“World Car Free Day ties in perfectly with what we are trying to achieve in. Buses provide the perfect and affordable solution to reducing air pollution, so we’re proud to have invested millions of pounds in improving the comfort and reliability of our services.”
